Biography
Paul Myhill was born in Bedford, England and moved to Texas in the late 70’s. He and his beautiful wife, Lisa, have been married since 1995 but met each other and became friends in 1982. They have three precious children, Faith Elizabeth (Dec. 2000), Caleb Hudson (Jan. 2003) and Hannah Claire (Aug. 2005), and now reside in Castle Rock, Colorado, just south of Denver.
Paul was formerly the Director of Missions at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship, a non-denominational mega-church in the North Dallas area, as well as the Executive and Missions Pastor for a mid-sized church in Denver. In addition, he worked as the Director of Projects for a large Christian-run orphan charity where he was involved with model orphanages (exemplary care and training centers) and child sponsorship programs in East Asia.
Paul was the Founder and President of Orphan Lifeline, a ministry dedicated to the church-based housing and care of orphaned and abandoned children in 30 countries throughout the developing world. During part of that time, he concurrently served as the Vice President of World Orphans, a Christian organization that has participated in the funding of over 500 orphan homes in almost 50 countries. In 2006, Paul was appointed as the President/CEO of World Orphans and now leads this large global ministry.
In his various orphan ministry roles, Paul has visited over 200 orphan home projects in more than 40 poor nations. He has studied a variety of orphan rescue models and organizations, assessing care programs, due diligence processes, accountability structures, outcomes measurement, and overall project effectiveness. He has gained expertise in the physical, mental, and spiritual development of orphans in numerous different cultural contexts.
Paul was an Honors Graduate with a BBA (Honor Business and Finance) and MBA (Management and Marketing) from the University of Texas at Austin. He also attended Dallas Theological Seminary where his focus was on cross-cultural/missiological studies.
Paul was a business developer and consultant for ten years before answering the call to vocational missions ministry. His businesses have been the subject of significant editorial articles in renowned national and international news publications, including USA Today, and have been featured on the Financial News Network, ABC’s PrimeTime Live with Diane Sawyer, and NBC’s Today Show. He is also published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal for a breakthrough health product he invented and commercialized.
Paul has overseen outreach projects in more than 60 countries through a network of dozens of churches, missions agencies, and para-church organizations. He has traveled to over 80 countries and has a passion for other cultures, especially unreached and marginalized people groups. He also has a burden for peoples living in desperate slum conditions.
Paul strongly believes that local indigenous churches are the mechanism for life transformation and world change; that all manner of outreach strategies should be channeled through and owned by these native churches.
Paul and Lisa’s hearts for orphans go far beyond their various orphan ministry involvements. In 2001, they welcomed an abandoned girl into their family, with the adoption of Lin Li Ke (aka Faith Elizabeth) from Hanchuan, China.
Paul has served on the governing boards of private and public companies as well as churches, missions and para-church organizations, and a private Christian school. He is currently a member of the leadership board of his church in Castle Rock as well as part of the board of World Orphans.
Paul’s hobbies include reading (primarily theology and missions strategy) and the artistic pursuits of painting (expressionistic motifs of the Cross – www.paulmyhill.com) and missions-related photography. His paintings have been shown in many churches around the country and have been featured in two solo exhibitions at the Biblical Arts Center in Dallas.
Paul is currently authoring a book on the plight and care of orphaned and abandoned children. He is also preparing to publish a book of his photographs of at-risk children around the world.
